Garrett Charles Nash, better known by his stage name Gnash (pronounced “nash”), is an American musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, DJ, and record producer. He was born on June 16, 1993. In March 2015, he uploaded his first extended play (EP), titled U, on SoundCloud. In December of the same year, he uploaded the Me EP. Us, his third EP, was released in March 2017. It features the Olivia O’Brien-featuring track “I Hate U, I Love U,” which debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100[3] and peaked at number one in Australia. I Hate U, I Love U is also on his January 2019 studio album We, which is his first.
With the release of U on March 15, 2015, and Me on December 15, 2015, Nash started a series of EPs about a previous breakup. In addition to producing the song “I Hate U, I Love U” in his garage, Nash also recorded his first two EPs there. This song eventually became his breakthrough single, landing at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100. Us, Nash’s third EP, debuted at number 46 on the Billboard 200 when it was published on March 25, 2016.
