An American doing country music is George Birge. He and Cody Cooper made up the duo Waterloo Revival from 2013 to 2020. In 2021, Birge started making recordings on his own.
Birge started writing songs by himself in 2021, following the dissolution of Waterloo Revival. These include compositions by Matt Stell, Chris Lane, and Gary LeVox, a former member of Rascal Flatts. The songs “Need a Bar Occasionally” and “Catchin’ Up with an Old Memory” by Birge were also covered by Clay Walker, who then released both of them as singles. Walker urged Birge to post his songs on the social media app TikTok in the latter half of 2021. Due to this, his song “Beer Beer, Truck Truck” began to gain popularity on the platform around the end of the year. Birge joined RECORDS Nashville, an independent label in Nashville, Tennessee, as a result of the popularity of this song. Late in 2021, he had a track called “Mind on You” published on the label; Michael Knox was the producer.
On the Billboard Country Airplay chart for the week of August 8, 2022, “Mind on You” made its debut at position 58 and peaked at position 54 in February 2023.
