American rapper, singer, and songwriter Willie Junior Maxwell II (born June 7, 1991), better known by his stage name Fetty Wap. He became well-known when his debut song, “Trap Queen,” peaked at number two on the U.S. May 2015 Billboard Hot 100 list. Fetty Wap was able to sign a record deal with 300 Entertainment thanks to this. Two top 10 songs in the United States, “679” (with Remy Boys) and “My Way,” were released as a result of the single (remixed featuring Drake). The three tracks were all included on Fetty Wap’s self-titled debut album, which was released in September 2015 and reached number one in the U.S. Billboard 200 ranking.
According to Fetty Wap, his music is “ignorant R&B”. He raps while also singing.
In memory of his daughter’s deceased grandma, Fetty Wap frequently sports the Haitian flag and draws inspiration from that country’s way of life. Fetty Wap has frequently credited Atlanta-based rapper Gucci Mane as a big influence on his music, saying that he “fell in love with the culture; people don’t realize what Haiti means to me.” in an interview with CivilTV.
