American hip-hop group 8Ball & MJG hails from Memphis, Tennessee. In 1984, they connected at Ridgeway Middle School. The pair issued their debut album, Comin’ Out Hard, in 1993. On the Outside Looking In (1994), On Top of the World (1995), In Our Lifetime (1999), Space Age 4 Eva (2000), Living Legends (2004), Ridin High (2007), and Ten Toes Down were later films they produced (2010).
Real Talk Entertainment secured contracts with 8Ball and MJG in Sacramento, California in September 2007. Doin’ It Big, a joint album by 8Ball and E.D.I. Mean of the Outlawz, was released on April 1, 2008; Pimp Tight, a solo album by MJG, was released on April 29. The trio announced their official signing to T.I.’s record label Grand Hustle in June 2008. Ten Toes Down, their debut album for Grand Hustle and their eighth album overall, was released in May 2010. In its first week, it rose to #36 on the Billboard 200.
