An American record producer by the name of Mustard (sometimes known as DJ Mustard) was born Dijon Isaiah McFarlane on June 5, 1990. Since breaking into the limelight with Tyga’s 2011 hit “Rack City,” he has frequently collaborated with the California-based hip-hop musicians YG and Ty Dolla Sign, among other tracks for hip-hop and R&B artists.

A catchy yet basic melodic hip-hop style that is up-tempo and club-oriented has been characterized as Mustard’s production style. He refers to this sound as “ratchet music,” which is the modern West Coast hip-hop production style that has evolved since the early 2010s. A vocal sample of YG, who says it at the conclusion of “I’m Fine,” one of their early collaborations, as well as claps and repetitions of the word “hey,” appears at the beginning or finish of nearly all of his productions.

The three albums by Mustard were released in August 2014 with 10 Summers, September 2016 with Cold Summer, and June 2019 with Perfect Ten.
