Teren Delvon Jones, also known by his stage names Del the Funky Homosapien (sometimes spelled Del tha Funkee Homosapien) and Sir DZL, was born in the United States on August 12, 1972.
Eleventh Hour was made available by Del through Definitive Jux on March 11, 2008. Del’s upcoming album Funk Man (The Stimulus Package) became free to download online on March 31, 2009. On his supporting tour for Funk Man, he gave away some hard copies of the record, but it is still accessible via his Bandcamp page. He released a new album, Automatik Statik, in September of that same year for an unfixed price with a minimum of $3.
On August 6, 2010, Del released his subsequent album, It Ain’t Illegal Yet. Listeners are free to pay whatever they choose for the record since there is no set fee. Several incentives, such as chances for private collaborations with Del, are offered in exchange for paying certain sums for the CD. On April 19, 2011, Del released the three-disc Golden Period album, which also included Automatik Statik and Funk Man (The Stimulus Package).
On January 2, 2014, Del offered a free album named Iller Than Most. Del handled the production of the single as well, and he described it as “lyrically ill but entertaining to listen to, nothing overly heavy” when he uploaded it to SoundCloud under the name Zartan Drednaught COBRA.
