Dayseeker is a post-hardcore American band from Orange County, California. Spinefarm Records currently has the band under contract.
Dayseeker was founded in 2012 by Rory Rodriguez on vocals, Alex Polk and Gino Sgambelluri on guitars, Andrew Sharp on bass, Mike Karle on drums, and Orange, California, which is close to San Diego. Before starting Dayseeker, Rory Rodriguez and Alex Polk played in a group called Arms Like Yours.
The songs “What It Means to Be Defeated,” “Collision.Survive,” and “Resurrect,” which were included on their debut album, as well as two nameless songs, were all included in the band’s demo releases. The band joined inVogue Records on July 7, 2013, and on October 29, 2013, their debut album, What It Means to Be Defeated, was made available. Joey Sturgis, who masterminded the record, contributed to it. The album was re-released on November 24, 2014. The album’s re-release was produced by Tom Denney, a former member of A Day to Remember’s guitar team. Three acoustic tracks are included in the re-release.
