French DJ David Guetta started mixing his first records at home at the age of 13, and at 15 he started throwing parties in his basement. Two years later, he was employed as a DJ at the Paris-based club “Broad.” His career was essentially launched here. He mixed house music for Radio Nova from 1988 till 1990. His song “The World Is Mine,” which features a sample of Simple Minds’ “Someone Somewhere In Summertime,” topped the dance music charts in Europe in 2005.
Chris Willis sings the vocals on the most of his hits, with the exception of “Baby When The Light,” which features Cozi Costi.
He was chosen by the British DJ Mag as the No. 5 World DJ and the finest house DJ in 2008.
Additionally, he has performed all around the world to support his 2007 CD Pop Life. On January 12, 2008, he performed in Mauritius with French rapper JoeyStarr of the French rap group NTM. He and his wife Cathy also organized a new event that year, which took place on July 5, 2008, at the Stade de France. The Sensation White, where Guetta performed numerous times, seemed to be the source of inspiration. He performed there with Tie sto, Carl Cox, Joachim Garraud, and Martin Solveig in front of 40,000 spectators.
