David Banner, also known by his stage name Lavell William Crump (born April 11, 1974), is an American rapper, record producer, and actor.
Banner’s family relocated to Jackson, Mississippi after he was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, where he was raised. Banner earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern University before enrolling at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to finish his education. Before going solo in 2000 with the release of Them Firewater Boys, Vol., he began his musical career as a member of the rap group Crooked Lettaz. 1. The Greatest Story Ever Told, Certified, Mississippi: The Album, and MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water are the four albums that Banner has released since signing with Universal Records in 2003. (2008).
