American rapper Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, also known as DaBaby (previously known as Baby Jesus), was born on December 22, 1991. After releasing a number of mixtapes between 2014 and 2018, he gained widespread recognition with his 2019 debut album Baby on Baby, which featured the Billboard Hot 100 top ten single “Suge.”
The tracks “Intro” and “Bop” off his second studio album, Kirk (2019), were certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The same year, he also appeared on Post Malone’s single “Enemies” and Megan Thee Stallion’s single “Cash Shit.” Blame It on Baby (2020), Dababy’s third studio album became the US’s number-one album for the second time in a row. His highest-charting song from the album was “Rockstar” (with Roddy Ricch), which lasted seven separate weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
He contributed to the Jack Harlow and Dua Lipa singles “Levitating” and “What’s Poppin (remix)” from 2020, both of which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. He collaborated with Lil Baby on Pop Smoke’s top ten single “For the Night” that same year, which earned him two iHeartRadio Music Awards. He collaborated with YoungBoy Never Broke Again on the mixtape Better than You, which was published in 2022.
