Counterparts are a Canadian melodic hardcore band from Hamilton, Ontario, formed in 2007. The current lineup includes vocalist Brendan Murphy, guitarists Alex Re and Jesse Doreen, bassist Tyler Williams, and drummer Kyle Brownlee. Their two most recent Pure Noise Records albums have gained critical accolades from Rock Sound and Exclaim! magazines. They are one of the most visible bands in contemporary melodic hardcore, as well as one of the primary powers of the metalcore revival wave.
Counterparts announced on all social media channels on May 31, 2022 that their seventh studio album, A Eulogy for Those Still Here, would be published on October 7, 2022, through Pure Noise Records. On June 1, 2022, the first single, “Unwavering Vow,” was released. On July 26, 2022, the second single “Whispers of Your Death” was released. On September 7, 2022, the third single “Bound to the Fire” was released.
