The song entered the charts in late 2022 as a result of its success on streaming sites. The song is Kent’s second studio album’s follow-up, 21. Many Nashville companies reportedly engaged in a bidding war to sign Kent as a result of this song’s early chart success, according to Billboard. In August 2022, Kent was signed by RCA Records Nashville, who then started advertising “Wild as Her” to country radio.
