2013—the year his independent debut song “Chillin’ It” was made available. Jody Stevens, a former member of the band Fast Ryde and the son of Bryan’s producer Jeff Stevens, produced the song. Swindell provided the vocals for the song “Chillin’ It,” and Stevens handled all of the music. The demo was delivered to the radio station before it had been mastered. Swindell released his debut record under his own name in 2014. The remainder of the record was produced by Lee Brice and Michael Carter, Bryan’s guitarist. Luke Bryan’s That’s My Kind of Night Tour 2014 has Swindell as its opener. Mid-January saw the start of the trip, which ended in early March. “Chillin’ It” rose to No. 1 on Hot Country Songs and No. 5 on Country Airplay. “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” co-written by Swindell and both Florida Georgia Line members, serves as the second single from the album. “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey,” the third song from the album, was made available to country radio in late 2014. In March 2015, it peaked at number one on the Country Airplay chart. “Let Me See Ya Girl,” the fourth single from the album, was made available in April 2015.
