Rapper and singer Coi Leray Collins was born in the United States on May 11, 1997. In 2018, she started sharing songs on SoundCloud and published her debut mixtape Everythingcoz and the track “Huddy.” Leray’s second mixtape, EC2, and her debut extended play, Now or Never, were both published in 2019 following the signing of a record deal with 1801 Records and Republic Records (2020). The remix of her hit, “No More Parties,” featuring Lil Durk, peaked at number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021 and was given a platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Leray’s debut studio album Trendsetter, which was published in 2022, gave rise to the track “Blick Blick,” which she co-wrote with Nicki Minaj and which also debuted in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
She performed “No More Parties” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in April 2021, marking her television debut. She also contributed to the remix of Pressa’s song “Attachments.” She received a nomination for Best New Hip Hop Artist at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Leray and Nicki Minaj collaborated on the song “Blick Blick” on March 18, 2022, and it premiered and peaked at number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100. On April 8, 2022, Leray released Trendsetter, her debut studio album. Yung Bleu, Fivio Foreign, Young M.A, G Herbo, H.E.R., Nav, Polo G, Lil Tecca, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie are just a few of the artists who Coi has worked with.
