Christopher Joseph Isaak (born June 26, 1956) is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and occasional actor from the United States. He is widely known for his breakout success and signature song “Wicked Game”, as well as songs such as “Blue Hotel”, “Baby Done a Terrible Bad Thing” and “Somebody’s Crying”. He is well-known for his reverb-heavy rockabilly revivalist style and broad vocal range. His songs are often about love, loss, and heartache. Isaak has recorded 13 studio albums, performed, and gotten multiple award nominations throughout the course of his four-decade career. He’s been compared to Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, and Duane Eddy, among others.
Isaak has a tight relationship with film director David Lynch, who has featured his music in several of his films. As an actor, he has appeared in films such as Married to the Mob, The Silence of the Lambs, Little Buddha, and That Thing You Do! and Lynch’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, as well as two television series: The Chris Isaak Show and The Chris Isaak Hour.
