Bruce Randall Hornsby (born November 23, 1954) is a singer-songwriter and pianist from the United States. His music is influenced by the musical traditions of folk rock, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Southern rock, country rock, jam band, rock, heartland rock, and blues rock.
Hornsby has received three Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist with Bruce Hornsby and the Range in 1987, Best Bluegrass Album in 1990, and Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1994.
Hornsby has collaborated with his touring band, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, as well as his bluegrass project with Ricky Skaggs, as well as as a session and guest performer. From September 1990 through March 1992, he was a touring member of the Grateful Dead, appearing in over 100 gigs.
‘Flicted,’ his 23rd album, was released in May 2022.
