Simon Neil (guitar, lead vocals), James Johnston (bass, vocals), and Ben Johnston (drums, vocals) make up the Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro, who founded in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire. They are currently signed to 14th Floor Records and have released nine studio albums, six of which (Puzzle, Only Revolutions, Opposites, Ellipsis, A Celebration of Endings, and The Myth of the Happily Ever After) reached the top five in the UK Albums Chart, with Opposites becoming their first UK No. 1 album.
Three of his studio albums (Opposites, Ellipsis, and A Celebration of Endings) charted at number one in the United Kingdom. Following the publication of their first three albums, the band greatly extended their fan base with the release of their fourth album, Puzzle, in 2007, developing more mainstream songs with easier rhythms and distancing themselves from the more distinctive discordant style seen in their first three albums. Puzzle reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart on June 16, 2007. The album was certified platinum in the United Kingdom in 2012, selling over 300,000 copies. They established a reputation as one of the top rock bands in the UK in the early 2010s.
