Benjamin Chase Harper (born October 28, 1969) is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from the United States. Harper is noted for his guitar talents, voice, live performances, and activism, and he plays an eclectic combination of blues, folk, soul, reggae, and rock music. He has released twelve studio albums, the majority of which were issued by Virgin Records, and has performed internationally.
Harper has three Grammy Awards and seven nominations, including Best Pop Instrumental Performance and Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album in 2004 and Best Blues Album in 2013.
Harper’s collaboration with Charlie Musselwhite, “No Mercy in This Land,” won Song of the Year at the 40th Blues Music Awards presentation.
