Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 3, 1992, August Anthony Alsina Jr. is an American singer who was originally signed to Def Jam Recordings.
The Product, Alsina’s first mixtape, was released in 2012; The Product 2, his debut extended play (EP), was published in 2013, and Downtown: Life Under the Gun was released by The-Radio Dream’s Killa Records and Def Jam Recordings.
This Thing Called Life, Alsina’s second studio album, was made available on December 11th, 2015. With 41,000 copies sold in its first week, it debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200. Five singles—”Hip Hop,” “Why I Do It” (with Lil Wayne), “Song Cry,” “Been Around the World” (featuring Chris Brown), and “Dreamer”—were released in support of the album.
