American rock group Alter Bridge hails from Orlando, Florida. Myles Kennedy on vocals and rhythm guitar, Mark Tremonti on lead guitar, Brian Marshall on bass, and Scott Phillips on drums made up the band in 2004. Tremonti and Phillips, together with ex-bandmate Marshall and newcomer Kennedy, created Alter Bridge in 2004 after their previous group Creed went dormant in 2003. This was before Creed’s official dissolution in June.
Alter Bridge released AB III in 2010 after carrying on with their other bands and side projects. It was released on Roadrunner Records to both critical praise and financial success, with its lead song “Isolation” peaking at number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Alter Bridge released Fortress to more praise in 2013, as the band’s members kept splitting their time between numerous projects. The Last Hero, released in 2016 by Napalm Records, became the group’s first album to chart in the top ten of the Billboard 200 and the top five of the UK Albums Chart since its debut. Walk the Sky, their sixth studio album, and Walk the Sky 2.0 were both released in 2019 and 2020, respectively. On October 14, 2022, the band’s seventh album, Pawns & Kings, was made available.
In the year 2023, Alter Bridge sold more than 5 million records globally.
