The American hip-hop group Tha Alkaholiks, also referred to as Tha Liks, is based in Los Angeles, California. Powered by the beats of DJ and producer E-Swift (born Eric Brooks in Columbus, Georgia, and raised in Toledo, Ohio), as well as the rhymes of J-Ro (born James Robinson in Los Angeles), and Tash since the early 1990s, they have created party music with a hardcore hip hop edge (born Rico Smith in Cincinnati). Even though the group mostly failed to achieve commercial crossover success, they nonetheless had a devoted fan base in their home region of the West Coast, as well as across the rest of the country and the world.
