Adam Noah Levine, born March 18, 1979, is a singer and songwriter from the United States. He is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the pop rock band Maroon 5. Levine began his musical career in 1994 as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the band Kara’s Flowers. Following the financial failure of their sole album, The Fourth World, the band was reunited as Maroon 5 in 2001, with James Valentine taking over as lead guitarist. Songs About Jane, their first album, went multi-platinum in the United States in 2002; since then, they have produced six more albums: It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (2007), Hands All Over (2010), Overexposed (2012), V (pronounced: “five”) (2014), Red Pill Blues (2017), and Jordi (2021). Levine has garnered numerous awards as a member of Maroon 5, including three Grammy Awards.
Levine was a coach on NBC’s reality talent show The Voice from 2011 to 2019. His club was the winner of three seasons (1, 5, and 9). Levine made his acting debut in the second season of American Horror Story in 2012 as the recurring character Leo Morrison. He has appeared in the movie Begin Again (2013), Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016), Fun Mom Dinner (both 2017), and The Clapper. In 2013, Levine debuted his eponymous fragrance brand. He developed his menswear range in collaboration with Kmart and ShopYourWay.com the same year. He also owns 222 Records, a record label, and 222 Productions, a production firm that created the television series Sugar and Songland. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “sources familiar with his many business dealings” believed Levine would earn more than $35 million that year in 2013.
