Rapper ASAP Ferg (stylized as A$AP Ferg), real name Darold Durard Brown Ferguson Jr., was born on October 20, 1988, in New York City’s Harlem district. In addition to his solo endeavors, he is a part of the hip-hop group A$AP Mob, from which he obtained a record deal with Polo Grounds and RCA, the same record companies that assisted in the establishment of A$AP Global. A$AP Rocky and A$AP Yams, members of Ferg’s A$AP Mob, had negotiated their own deals in 2011—two years earlier. On August 20, 2013, he released Trap Lord, his debut studio album, to generally favorable reviews. Always Strive and Prosperous, Ferguson’s second studio album, was made available on April 22, 2016. Ferguson’s second mixtape, Still Striving, which was promoted by the track “Plain Jane,” was released on August 18, 2017. (featuring Nicki Minaj). He released Floor Seats and Floor Seats II in 2019 and 2020, the latter of which includes the song “Move Your Hips” (featuring Nicki Minaj and MadeinTYO). Ferguson and Roc Nation agreed to a second management contract in 2021.
