American musician and rapper Ricardo Valdez Valentine Jr., better known by his stage name 6lack (stylized as 6LACK and pronounced “black”), was born on June 24, 1992.
He first attracted attention after the release of his track “Prblms,” which was included in his first album, Free 6lack, which came out in November 2016. In September 2018, he put out his second album, East Atlanta Love Letter, which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 chart. Later in the year, he made the single “OTW” available (with Khalid and Ty Dolla Sign). The Normani song “Waves,” on which 6lack appeared, won the artist an MTV Video Music Award.
Love Renaissance and Interscope Records are currently home to 6lack. Moreover, he is a part of Spillage Village, an Atlanta-Baltimore music group started by EarthGang and JID. Sixlack has won an MTV Video Music Award and has been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
