Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez (born August 9, 1972) is a Colombian musician who was a member of the rock band Ekhymosis and is currently a solo artist. His solo first album Fjate Bien won three Latin Grammy Awards in 2000. Juanes’ albums have sold over 15 million copies globally.
According to his label, Universal Music, Juanes has received twenty Latin Grammy Awards (5 of which were presented during the Latin Grammy Awards ceremony on November 13, 2008) and three Grammy Awards. At the 2010 BMI Latin Awards, Juanes earned the BMI President’s Award. Juanes is also noted for his humanitarian activity, particularly through his NGO Fundacion Mi Sangre, which assists Colombian victims of anti-personnel mines. Juanes published his autobiography, Chasing The Sun, in April 2013, in which he narrates his journey through narratives and photographs. He is one of the best-selling artists in Spanish.
