Wolfmother is a Sydney-based Australian hard rock band. The band was formed in 2004 and is led by vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, who is the sole continuous member of the lineup. The band’s lineup has changed several times since its inception, with the current lineup containing drummer Hamish Rosser and bassist Brad Heald, both of whom were previously members of The Vines. Chris Ross, bassist and pianist, and Myles Heskett, drummer, were members of the band’s first and most financially successful lineup. In 2008, Ross and Heskett left Wolfmother after four years.
Wolfmother’s lineup has changed regularly in recent years, reflecting the band’s shifting commercial appeal. Keep Moving, the band’s intended third album was released as Stockdale’s solo debut in 2013, with a new line-up including drummer Vin Steele releasing New Crown independently the following year. In 2016, the band released Victorious, their first major label album since Cosmic Egg, and toured with Alex Carapetis on drums. Wolfmother’s lineup has evolved throughout time, with Stockdale releasing and touring in support of his second solo album Slipstream in 2018.
