Simple Plan is a 1999 Montreal, Quebec-based Canadian rock band. Pierre Bouvier (lead vocals, bass guitar), Chuck Comeau (drums), Jeff Stinco (lead guitar), and Sébastien Lefebvre (rhythm guitar, backing vocals) make up the band’s roster, and all four have been with the band from its start. David Desrosiers (bass guitar, backing vocals) joined the band in early 2000 and left in July 2020 owing to allegations of sexual assault. The band has six studio albums to their credit: No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls (2002), Still Not Getting Any… (2004), Get Your Heart On! (2008), Get Your Heart On! Taking One for the Team (2011), Taking One for the Team (2016), and Harder Than It Looks (2022).
From 1999 through 2005, and again in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2018, the band participated at the Vans Warped Tour. The band also played during the closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics, alongside The X Factor Australia. The band played at Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay’s college event in Mumbai, India, in December 2012. The band played themselves in the 2004 film New York Minute, starring the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. O Canada was again sung by Simple Plan at the 2016 NHL Winter Classic. They also sang the theme song for and appeared on one episode of What’s New, Scooby-Doo?
