Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III (born January 7, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper better known by his stage name Aloe Blacc. He is most known for his singles “I Need a Dollar” and “The Man,” both of which charted in the United Kingdom, as well as for writing and providing vocals on Avicii’s “Wake Me Up,” which charted in 22 countries, including Australia and the United Kingdom. In addition to his solo work, Blacc is a part of the hip-hop group Emanon, together with American record producer Exile.
