Monique Angela Hicks (née Imes; born December 11, 1967) is a stand-up comedian and actress from the United States. She has won many awards, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Mo’Nique rose to prominence through her stand-up comedy act, which she began as a member of The Queens of Comedy. She was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album in 2002. She began her professional film and television career as Nicole “Nikki” Parker in the UPN sitcom The Parkers (1999-2004), as well as in Phat Girlz (2006) and Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. (2008).
