Tremaine Aldon Neverson (born November 28, 1984) is an American R&B singer and rapper better known as Trey Songz. I Gotta Make It, his debut album, was released by Atlantic Records in 2005. His follow-up album, Trey Day, yielded his first top 20 songs, “Can’t Help but Wait”. Songz released his third album, Ready, in 2009, and one of the album’s singles, “Say Aah” (with Fabolous), reached at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Songz’s first top 10 success. At the 2008 Grammy Awards, Ready was nominated for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Songz’s highest-charting single to date, “Bottoms Up” (with Nicki Minaj), off his fourth studio album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, was released the following year. (2010).
Songz’s first number-one album, Chapter V, landed at the top of the Billboard 200 in 2012. “Heart Attack,” the album’s debut song, was nominated for Best R&B Song at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Following that, Songz released Trigga, his sixth studio album, in 2014, Tremaine, his seventh studio album, in 2017, and Back Home, his eighth studio album, in 2020. He has sold over 25 million singles and albums globally.
