Travis Lazarus “Travie” McCoy (born August 5, 1981) is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from the United States. In addition to his solo career, he is the co-founder and former lead vocalist of the rap rock band Gym Class Heroes. As a youngster, McCoy became active in punk rock scenes. He created Gym Class Heroes with boyhood buddy Matt McGinley; following multiple lineup changes, the band was contracted to Fueled by Ramen, who published their debut album.
Gym Class Heroes took a three-year vacation from music, allowing McCoy to focus on his solo career; in 2010, McCoy released his debut solo album, Lazarus, on T-Pain’s label Nappy Boy Entertainment.
“Billionaire,” the album’s debut song (with Bruno Mars), reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the UK Singles Chart.
McCoy signed with Hopeless Records in 2021 and released “A Spoonful Of Cinnamon,” his first song in six years, on June 18.
