Kipling Christian Moore (born April 2, 1980) is a singer and songwriter from the United States who is signed to MCA Nashville. Up All Night, Wild Ones, Slowheart, and Wild Planet are his four studio albums for the label. Moore has twelve Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay entries, including the number-one “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” and four additional top-ten songs. He’s also worked with Frankie Ballard, Thompson Square, and James Wesley on tunes.
He lived in Nashville for eight years before earning a record deal with MCA Nashville. His debut single, “Mary Was the Marrying Type,” landed at number 45 on Billboard’s country singles charts.
He released his second single, “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck,” on September 27, 2011. The song was followed in April 2012 by the release of his debut album Up All Night. Moore co-wrote every song on the album, which was produced by Brett James. “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” reached number one on the Billboard country charts a month later. “Beer Money” was the album’s second single, followed by “Hello Beautiful Lady”. These songs also charted in the country’s top five. In both 2012 and 2013, Up All Night was the most financially successful album by a rookie country male performer.
Moore co-wrote two songs on Thompson Square’s self-titled debut album, released in February 2011: “All the Way” and “Let’s Fight,” the latter of which served as the band’s debut single. He also co-wrote James Wesley’s 2012 hit “Walking Contradiction” and Frankie Ballard’s 2016 single “Cigarette”.
