Dedrick D’Mon Rolison, best known by his stage name Mack 10, was born on August 9, 1971. When his solo and group works are combined, he has sold approximately 11 million records. Mack 10 originally appeared on Ice Cube’s “Bootlegs & B-Sides” collection in 1994, on the remixed single “What Can I Do?” He was also a part of the hip-hop ensemble Westside Connection, alongside WC and Ice Cube. Mack 10 is also the founder of the indie record company Hoo-Bangin’ Records, and he got his stage name from the Ingram MAC-10 submachine pistol.
Rolison founded the independent record label Hoo-Bangin Records. He appeared alongside W.C. and Ice Cube in the 1996 all-star side project Westside Connection, as well as establishing his own production company, Mack One-O, which signed the acts Allfrumtha-I and the Comrades. Glasses Malone was also signed to Mack 10’s Hoo-Bangin Records subsidiary via Cash Money Records.
Gentle White, his most recent album, was published in 2009 by Hoo-Bangin’ Records and Fontana Distribution. “Big Balla,” starring Birdman and Glasses Malone, was the first single.
