Klangkarussell (German meaning “Sound Carousel”) is a 2011 Austrian electronic music duo. Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held are the group’s two members. “Sonnentanz,” their biggest hit to date, reached the top 10 in six countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland).
Prior to the formation of the pair, the name “Klangkarussell” pertained solely to Rieser’s solo work. During the same period, Adrian Held created electronic music under the moniker I herald, which is a partial anagram of his given name. Under the moniker “Heldenklang,” the two artists released their debut songs together in 2011. (German: “Hero Sound”). Soon after, they began referring to their continuous cooperation under Rieser’s name Klangkarussell.
The duo’s debut single “Sonnentanz” was released in June 2012. The song reached number three in Austria, number three in Belgium, number one hundred in France, number four in Germany, number one in the Netherlands, and number three in Switzerland. On August 18, 2013, a new version of the song with vocals by Will Heard was released in the United Kingdom. They released their second single, “Netzwerk (Falls Like Rain),” in May 2014. They released their debut studio album Netzwerk in July 2014, which included all three songs. The most recent hit is “Hello Maria,” a single edit released in September 2016.
