Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax (born April 15, 1994), better known as Jacquees (pronounced jah-kweese), is a Decatur, Georgia-based singer, songwriter, and rapper. He got a recording and management contract with Cash Money Records in 2015. His 2016 single “B.E.D.” spent seven weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 list, peaking at number 69. On June 15, 2018, his debut album, 4275, was published. The album was followed in 2019 by King of R&B and in 2022 by Truly For You.
Jacquees met his first manager, Corey Battle, in 2007. He appeared on several talent programs before meeting and switching management with Russell “Block” Spencer, the CEO and creator of Block Entertainment. Jacquees worked as part of a production crew in numerous recording studios. Block was primarily interested in rap music, not R&B. Later, Jacquees began working closely with Block at his production studio, achieving prominence with the track “Krazy,” which featured Atlanta rapper T.I.
Jacquees independently released his second EP, 19, on March 25, 2014, debuting at number 15 on the US Billboard Hot R&B Albums chart. Chris Brown, Rich Homie Quan, Lloyd, and Trinidad James make appearances on the 11-track EP. Jacquees revealed on October 1, 2014, that he has signed a recording contract with Cash Money Records. In May 2016, he worked with labelmate Birdman on an EP titled Lost at Sea. His 2016 single “B.E.D.” charted at number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100.
