Joshua Winslow Groban is an American singer, songwriter, and actor who was born on February 27, 1981. His first four solo albums have received multi-platinum certification, and in 2007, he was listed as the top-selling artist in the US, selling more than 22.3 million units. He had sold more than 25 million albums globally as of 2022.

He was asked by David Foster to fill in for an ill Andrea Bocelli so that they could practice the duet “The Prayer” with Celine Dion at the 1998 Grammy Awards rehearsal. He was given an instant invitation to appear on Rosie O’Donnell’s talk program. When Gray Davis took office as governor of California in 1999, Foster urged him to perform. David E. Kelley, the show’s creator, cast him when he sang “You’re Still You,” which was eventually included on his debut album, for the season four finale of Ally McBeal in 2001.
