Joseph Adam Jonas is an American singer, songwriter, and actor who was born on August 15, 1989. Along with his brothers Kevin and Nick, he gained notoriety as a member of the pop-rock group the Jonas Brothers. The group’s first studio album, It’s About Time, was released under the Columbia label in 2006, however, it was not a financial success. The group’s self-titled second studio album, which was released in 2007, following their agreement with Hollywood Records, became their breakout hit.
During this time, the group rose to prominence on the Disney Channel, where they developed a sizable fan base. They starred in two of the network’s original series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas Brothers: The Final Jam (2010–2011), as well as the hugely popular musical television film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. (2009–2010).
Fastlife, Joe’s debut studio album, was somewhat successful commercially when it was released in 2011. In 2015, Jonas, who was the main vocalist of the band DNCE, created it after the Jonas Brothers formally split up over artistic disagreements. The band’s debut hit, “Cake by the Ocean,” which peaked at number 9 on the American Billboard Hot 100 list, was a resounding commercial success.
