DJ Muggs is the stage name of Lawrence Muggerud, an American DJ, audio engineer, and record producer (born January 28, 1968). He is a part of the hip-hop and art collective Soul Assassins, the trip-hop group Cross My Heart Wish To Die, and Cypress Hill.
Throughout his career, he worked with Tricky, GZA, Sick Jacken, Planet Asia, Ill Bill, Meyhem Lauren, and Roc Marciano. He also produced tracks for House of Pain, Funkdoobiest, Daddy Freddy, Pavlos Fyssas, Die Antwoord, and Westside Gunn. He also remixed songs for Janet Jackson, U2, Kaliphz, Simply Red, and Depeche Mode. Three Grammy nominations for “Insane in the Brain,” “I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That,” and “Throw Your Set in the Air” were given to him while a member of Cypress Hill.
