Leslie Feist, better known by his stage name Feist, is a Canadian indie pop singer-songwriter and guitarist who has performed both solo and with the indie rock band Broken Social Scene since his birth on February 13, 1976.
With the release of Monarch in 1999, Feist began her solo musical career. Her two studio albums, Let It Die (2004) and The Reminder (2007), received favorable reviews and had strong sales of over 2.5 million copies each. Feist received four Grammy nominations for The Reminder, including one for Best New Artist. 11 Juno Awards, including two for Artist of the Year, have been given to her. Metals, her fourth studio album, was made available in 2011. Feist and the metal band Mastodon worked together on a split EP in 2012, creating an interactive music video in the process.
Artist of the Year, Adult Alternative Album of the Year for Metals, and Music DVD of the Year for her documentary Look at What the Light Did Now were the three Junos that Feist won in the 2012 event.
