Rapper BlocBoy JB, whose real name is James Lee Baker (born May 19, 1996), hails from the United States. Most people are familiar with him through the Drake-featuring song “Look Alive,” which reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 2018. “Shot,” “Rover,” and its follow-up, “Rover 2.0,” are some of his other tracks (featuring 21 Savage).
Baker started putting out music on his SoundCloud channel in 2012. Who Am I, his debut mixtape, was made available in 2016. It included the song “No Chorus Pt. 6,” which had over three million YouTube views.
On June 14, 2019, Baker dropped his eighth mixtape, I Am Me, which featured appearances from Lil Durk and Moneybagg Yo. From Memphis, Tennessee, NLE Choppa and Baker have collaborated on three albums under the names ChopBloc, ChopBloc 2, and ChopBloc 3, respectively.
“Swervin,” Baker’s first official song of 2020, was released in March. Tay Keith, a longstanding collaborator, produced his much-awaited single “No Chorus, Part. 12,” which was released in May 2020. Baker’s debut studio album, FatBoy, was released on October 9, 2020, following the release of many pre-release singles.
