Baauer is a stage name for Harry Bauer Rodrigues, an American DJ and record producer who was born on April 30, 1989. His song “Harlem Shake” has received two platinum certifications. Since he was 13 years old, he has been creating different types of dance music. He once created a single he called “Captain Harry” that was supported on BBC Radio 1. Together with artists like TNGHT, RL Grime, Rustie, and Flosstradamus, his early releases as Baauer in 2012 were a part of the growing electronic music subgenre known as trap. Among others, Baauer has written songs for Just Blaze, Pusha T, Tom Morello, and G-Dragon. For Nero, The Prodigy, Flosstradamus, No Doubt, Missy Elliott, Disclosure Kodak Black, and Gorillaz, he has made official remixes. Blockbuster movies like Logan, Red Sparrow, and Hunger Games: Mockingjay has all featured music by Baauer. He released his debut album, Aa, in 2016. On June 19, 2020, his second album, Planet’s Crazy, was made available. The 2021 Grammy Awards have nominated Planet’s Crazy for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
