An American country music artist by the name of Ernest Keith Smith (stylized as ERNEST). He signed a recording deal with Big Loud in 2019 after penning songs for Chris Lane, Jake Owen, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Morgan Wallen, and Morgan Owen.
Tennessee’s Nashville is where Ernest Keith Smith was born and raised. Early on, he developed a passion for hip-hop music, naming the Space Jam soundtrack and an Eminem CD a friend gave him as his principal influences. Ernest started penning songs for Jake Owen and Chris Lane.
Ernest started penning songs for Jake Owen and Chris Lane. As a result, in 2019, he agreed to a recording deal with Big Loud, the company that represents both Lane and Owen. Later in the year, he also started traveling with Lane and Mason Ramsey. With Lane’s “Huge, Big Plans,” Morgan Wallen’s “More Than My Hometown,” and Sam Hunt’s “Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90s,” Ernest continued to enjoy success as a songwriter in 2020. Also, he dropped “Cheers,” his debut track for Big Loud. This was followed in 2021 by two additional singles; the first was “American Rust”, issued in June. The duet with Wallen, “Flower Stores,” came after it in December.
