British rock group Bring Me the Horizon was founded in Sheffield in 2004 and is frequently referred to as BMTH. Oliver Sykes, who sings lead, is joined by guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls, and pianist Jordan Fish in the current lineup. They have worldwide contracts with RCA Records and exclusive US contracts with Columbia Records.
The band released its debut album Count Your Blessings in 2006. When the album first came out, the deathcore style polarized listeners and was largely derided by critics. With the release of their second album, Suicide Season (2008), which was regarded as a creative, critical, and commercial turning point for the band, the group started to depart from this sound. There Is a Hell Trust Me I’ve Seen It, the third album by Bring Me the Horizon, was released. They gained increased international prominence with the release of There Is a Heaven Let’s Keep It a Secret. in 2010, which combined pop, electronica, and classical music influences. Sempiternal, their 2013 major label debut, received a Gold certification in Australia (35,000) and a Silver certification in the UK (60,000).
