Stephen (shown at right) and Justin Kirk, brothers and hit writers for the new country duo Sunset West, grew up in a musical family where Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts had the same influence on them as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson had.
The Kirks moved from Charlotte, North Carolina to Nashville in 2012 to pursue their musical goals. There, they have spent the last ten years composing and producing smash songs alongside other hitmakers like Ernest and Chris DeStefano. They experimented with being a pop duo in 2016, TRYON, opening for Carrie Underwood on some of her Blown Away Tour dates in 2012 and 2013.
Afterward, they traveled back to the West and settled in Los Angeles, where Justin worked with Jason Mraz, Tyler Jordan, and others while Stephen was a co-writer and producer on two of BTS’ international singles, “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.”
