American alternative folk group The Lumineers is located in Denver, Colorado. Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites are the group’s original members (drums, percussion, piano). In Ramsey, New Jersey, Schultz and Fraites started writing and performing together in 2005. Neyla Pekarek, a cellist and singer, joined the group in 2010, and she remained a member until 2018. With the resurgence of folk-rock and Americana music in the 2010s, The Lumineers become one of the most well-known performers in those genres.
With the US independent label Dualtone Records, The Lumineers have issued four albums (Dine Alone in Canada and Decca/Universal internationally). 2012 saw the release of their debut self-titled album, which reached at No. 2 on the US charts. 200 on Billboard. Triple platinum, platinum, and gold certifications have been given to it in the US, Canada, the UK, and Ireland, respectively. 2016 saw the release of their second album, Cleopatra, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as well as the Canadian, British, and album charts.
